The Generosity Paradox

We've all encountered them—the two distinct types of people when it comes to money and generosity. There are those who, despite their wealth, always seem to calculate what they'll receive in return before giving. They ask, “What will you bring when you visit?” and “What can you offer if we help you?” Perhaps this transactional mindset is precisely what built their fortunes.

Then there are the others—predominantly women and the families they influence—who, despite modest means, open their hearts and wallets whenever someone is in need. They give without hesitation, lend without contracts, and help without expecting returns. These are the middle-class heroes whose generosity might be the very thing keeping them from financial prosperity.

The Heart Of The Matter

As women, we're often raised to be nurturers, caregivers, and community builders. These beautiful qualities make us the backbone of our families and neighbourhoods. But they can also create a financial paradox: our willingness to give freely may inadvertently limit our ability to accumulate wealth.

imageConsider Sarah, a teacher who consistently lends money to relatives in crisis, never asking for repayment schedules. Or Priya, who regularly contributes to community causes despite her own family's tight budget. Their generosity is admirable, but it often comes at the cost of their own financial security.
