‘DELE MISSES JOHN, BUT SHE’S OK’

It’s been almost one year since his death, but there’s not a day that goes by where Delvene Delaney doesn’t miss the love of her life

It’s a love story for the ages – one that continues to inspire even after Delvene Delaney’s heartbreaking loss of the brilliant, funny and brave John Cornell, who she spent the best part of a joyful half century loving and tirelessly supporting.

“Dele is doing alright. She misses John dreadfully, but she really is doing OK,” reveals one family friend to Woman’s Day, who describes Delvene as “strong and resilient”.

Thankfully, the mate notes the TV star has been showered in love from her daughters, grandchildren and close friends.

John’s death on July 23 last year, after a 20-year battle with Parkinson’s disease, came as “almost a blessing” for his close mate and showbiz partner Paul Hogan, but left a gaping hole in devastated Delvene’s heart.

‘BRAVEST MAN’

She devoted her time to trying to find a cure to stop the march of what she calls an “insidious disease” that was “constant and relentless without relief”, but sadly had to say goodbye to John when he finally succumbed to the illness.
