Yuletide treats, being a grandfather and how he deals with the leftovers

We're usually in the pub AT 1PM!

For Rick Stein, Christmas is all about home and family - be that here in his beloved Cornwall, or with his wife Sarah's side over in Australia.

Now, he's bringing some of his special Christmas magic to everyone's table, with all kinds of ideas for what to eat and drink, as well as what to do with the leftovers!

We caught up with Rick, 78, to find out who does the cooking in his house on the big day, and why things have changed now he's a grandfather from his grownup sons Jack, Ed and Charlie.

Merry Christmas, Rick! Tell us all about your new festive cookbook?

The publisher had been asking me to do a Christmas book for some time, but I never had the chance while making travel and cooking programmes. Finally, I did! It reflects the love of Christmas that both my wife and I have. The book is filled with recipes I use at Christmas, anecdotes from past Christmases, and reflections on why Christmas means so much. It's about celebrating something bright in the darkest part of the year, which I think is why it has evolved to mean so much to people.

What are some of your favourite recipes from the book?
