Colin is shocked when he finds out who's attending his wife’s conference“How could you not mention George Clooney?” I asked the beloved wife.

It was a reasonable question in the circumstances, which perhaps were a little unusual.

She was off, you see, on a business trip to America, which is something she (the beloved executive wife) does every now and then, so I hadn’t taken much notice, I suppose, and that wasn’t unusual.

I knew there was a conference she was attending somewhere or other over there. But I didn’t know about the appearance of the famous film star, swoony George Clooney, until she (the BW) mentioned it to someone else in my presence. Which is when I might have yelped something like, “George Clooney?” with a question mark and probably in capital letters. And asked, in a reasonable tone, I hope, “How could you not mention George Clooney?”
