Unfiltered, unfazed and unstoppable, such is the stance of telly-to-movie actor Mrunal Thakur who talks about breaking the clutter in conversation with writer Suhani Lotlikar.

Whether it’s in between takes on set or while she is on the run to the airport, one thing Mrunal is really good at is being herself. One knows that fearlessly charging towards the next thing when the whole world is actively watching is not for the weakhearted. But the actor simply leads a life of no regrets. One where failures have become lessons and successes have become more of a reason to push harder.

So, when she told me about her plans to hopefully visit Japan next year for a much-needed break, a need to justify the time taken off crawled into our conversation. This is truly one of the biggest struggles that most of us deal with today, the guilt of taking some time for our own selves. Living in the moment sometimes makes us feel like we are being selˆsh but moving past it is what counts. Just like us, Mrunal, too, is slowly learning the subtle art. “Recently, I’ve made this rule that I will spend at least two Sundays with my family every month” she says.

Unsurprisingly, the actor who comes from the city of Dhule is very self-aware of her position in the ˆlm industry and her role outside of it. She knows the value of what she has achieved in such a short amount of time and practices a reˆned quality of professionalism. “When it’s showtime, you have to put on that face. No matter if you’ve had a bad day or a good one, the show must go on. And I’m not looking for instant validation, so I’m taking it all in one day at a time.”
