Sometimes, the only chance to catch up on reading is when you're travelling - or is that just me? The latest Kindle has a 7-inch display and it's in colour, which makes a big difference. The home screen with multiple colour book titles looks great, especially when it comes to recipe books or graphic novels. If you've downloaded a travel guide for your next business trip, this will also stand out on screen. The colours are subtle rather than bright - more pastel than saturated. Regular books appear in black-and-white as normal, with the resolution for text and images as sharp as ever. As colour content takes up more space, there's twice as much storage as on a regular Kindle, and the battery is very strong - measured in days or weeks, not hours. This model also has the fastest page turns yet on a Kindle, making for a smoother, more seamless experience.
