TRUE HOME THEATRE EXPERIENCE

₹4,75,000, formovie.com

The Formovie Theater Premium builds on the success of its predecessor with enhanced brightness, improved sharpness, and an upgraded sound system. But is it worth the investment in today's competitive UST market?

The Formovie Theater Premium is an ultra-short-throw projector utilizing ALPD 4.0 RGB+ triple-laser technology. It delivers 2,200 ISO lumens and an impressive 3,000:1 native contrast, while maintaining the compact form factor (550 x 349.2 x 107.5mm, 9.8kg) of the original model. The darkened exterior and fabric-covered Bowers & Wilkins speakers give it a premium, living-room-friendly aesthetic.

With Google TV replacing Android TV, native Netflix support is now included, addressing a key limitation of the first generation. Gaming capabilities are solid with support for 1080p/120Hz content, though its input lag implementation has some quirks.

The Theater Premium doesn't stray far from the original's design language, sporting a slightly darker finish that looks sophisticated in any environment. It feels robust and well-built, with adjustable feet for precise alignment. The front houses an upgraded fabric mesh for the second-generation Bowers & Wilkins speakers, while the back offers comprehensive connectivity with three HDMI 2.1 ports, USB inputs, optical audio, and LAN.

Unfortunately, the remote control feels disappointingly basic for a premium device - resembling what you'd get with a ₹8,000 streaming stick rather than a ₹4.75 lakh projector. It's functional, but we expected a bit more refinement given the price point.
