MoFi Distribution would like to thank both Ken Micallef and John Atkinson for their time and effort reviewing the HiFi Rose RA280 integrated amplifier (November 2025, p.93).

HiFi Rose RA280
The RA280 is an example of trickle-down technology creating a value proposition while also advancing technology—in this case, the GaNFET-based class-AD amplifier circuit. There are very few robustly built integrated amplifiers that can outperform the RA280 anywhere near its price.
Today's class-D (and class-AD) amplifiers employing GaNFET output devices are more than capable of creating the sonic illusion of class-A thanks to their ultrahigh speed and low-distortion switching characteristics. Let's acknowledge that class-D is here to stay and will continue to improve; the RA280 exemplifies this reality.
The HiFi Rose RA280 strives for accuracy, both spatially and tonally, while also being highly musical, as KM discovered over and over with many of his preferred recordings, both analog and digital.
Thank you, Stereophile, for this excellent and thorough review, as well as the opportunity to write this comment.

Timeless flights
How many adventurous rock’n’roll bands forged in the late-’60s/early-’70s would have been left by the wayside—or relegated to languish in perpetual cutout-bin purgatory—had it not been for the wide-open programming M.O. of stereo-loving FM radio stations? The Moody Blues could very easily have been one of those sidelined, notched-cover footnotes, but they altered their gameplan when guitarist/vocalist Justin Hayward and bassist/vocalist John Lodge joined the fold a few years after the chart success of “Go Now” in 1964.¹
