SEARCHING FOR TRUE FREEDOM AND HIGH FASHION IN DIVINITY: ORIGINAL SIN 2 PART 2
PC Gamer US Edition
|May 2025
Mister Fibula may be dead, but he's never looked better.
I'm beginning to think that prison breaks aren't all they're cracked up to be. The esteemed Mister Fibula and his retinue of haughty hangers-on have endured brutal guards, murderous inmates, and a painfully limited selection of couture. Undaunted, they have fought, bargained, and climbed their way out of the infamous Fort Joy, only to remember that—oh yeah—they're on an island. So, while we're no longer trapped by imposing walls and capricious guards, our new jailer goes by the name of tedious geographical reality.
But it's not all bad. As an ancient corpse with only a tenuous grasp on what constitutes normal, mortal behavior, Mister Fibula should be safer in these sparsely occupied swamps than he ever was in the crowded confines of Fort Joy. The fleshy, breathing inhabitants of Rivellon are almost universally hostile to the undead, and Fibs is yet to reliably control his urge to ask strange questions like, “Do you really think lips are necessary?” Best to stick to the swamps for the time being, I think.
As secluded as our post-breakout existence may be, a near-endless swirl of rumor and intrigue seems to find its way to us. There's hearsay of dissident Magisters and courageous rebel factions helping prisoners to break free of their shackles. There's whispers of hidden vaults and underground fighting arenas. And then there are the tales of the cruel old king—Braccus Rex—and the bygone age in which this island served as his stronghold. But none of these rumors refer directly to troves of chiffon, chenille and satin, so Mister Fibula utterly ignores them.
