I awake surrounded by gore and decay, my ragged, white smock smeared with the dark crimson of dried blood. Beings died here, badly, and judging by my physical state I was at the center of the carnage.

I stumble forward, disorientated and confused. The last thing I recall was... so long ago? An era of smoke, jazz, and blues... I can faintly still hear the music, I think. I have been sleeping for... how long? And why am I now awake here?
