The openSUSE Project has announced that its Tumbleweed rolling release distribution now includes Wayland support for users of the LXQt desktop environment.

This update makes it possible to experience the lightweight LXQt desktop with Wayland, offering users the benefits of modern graphics technologies such as improved performance, better multi-monitor support, and enhanced security.
With the release of LXQt 2.1, the desktop environment introduces an experimental Wayland session via a new component called lxqt-wayland-session. This session supports several popular Wayland compositors, including Labwc, KWin, Wayfire, Hyprland, Sway, River, and Niri, providing users with flexibility in tailoring their setup.
