Annual Issue 2025

Motorola has ventured into the competitive laptop market with the Moto Book 60. Known for its smartphones and wireless accessories, Motorola aims to carve a niche dominated by established players like Dell, HP, and Apple. The Moto Book 60 is a promising debut, blending sleek design, solid performance, and a vibrant OLED display. Does it stand out in the crowded ultrabook market? After using the device for two weeks, I found it to be a compelling choice for professionals and casual users, although it has its quirks. Let's explore further.

DESIGN & BUILD

The Moto Book 60 features a premium, minimalist design with a durable metal chassis, weighing 1.4kg which is slightly heavier than competitors like the MSI Prestige 13+ Evo. Its 14-inch form factor offers a good balance of portability and usability, though its thickness (16.9mm) is noticeable compared to sleeker options like the MacBook Air.

Opening the lid is smooth due to a well-engineered hinge, but the display feels a bit flimsy. The standout 14-inch OLED display boasts 500 nits of brightness, vivid colors, and deep blacks, making it excellent for work and entertainment, though it lacks touchscreen support. The compact keyboard provides satisfying tactile feedback, allowing comfortable long typing sessions. It features Windows Hello for security but lacks a fingerprint reader.

Audio is impressive with dual stereo speakers delivering clear sound, ideal for Zoom calls and music. The laptop is available in PANTONE Bronze Green and PANTONE Wedgewood, but more color options would be welcome in the future.
