FEATURE-RICH 4K TV THAT DAZZLES WITH QNED BRILLIANCE
Exhibit
|November - December 2025
When it comes to TV technologies, QLED is something that's been dominating the mid-range space.
But this space has been invaded now by something LG calls QNED, which stands for Quantum Nano-Emitting Diode. The product that fell into my lap, or rather hung onto my wall, is the LG 55-inch 4K QNED 8GA TV that aims to be a versatile all-rounder. Let me tell you what I thought about it.
DESIGN & DISPLAY
Visually, the set sports a clean, minimalist aesthetic: narrow bezels and a slim profile. One thing that's notably absent though, is the option of a stand. Yes, this is a TV that can only be mounted on a wall. That said, it blends easily with any black-coloured media console setup. Turning to the display, it’s got LG's QNED branding, which here stands for a 4K resolution panel combined with Mini-LED backlighting and their Dynamic QNED Colour wide-gamut technology. But what does that mean in practice? Here's a short explainer.
The Mini-LED back-light offers many smaller LED zones rather than a few large ones, allowing for local dimming that improves contrast by dimming dark parts of the image while keeping the bright parts bright. Dynamic QNED Colour is LG's own implementation of a wide-colour-gamut that claims deeper, richer colours, especially in HDR content. In everyday use, this translates to a display that can deliver bright highlights, strong colour intensity and good detail in HDR content. That makes it ideal for rooms with a lot of natural light coming in, which is exactly where we tested it.
