Nirmal Wires introduces Niznal (R) for Misch Metal Core Technology

How is smarter transmission infrastructure enabling reliable evacuation amid India's rapid expansion of renewable energy?

In the power scenario where the country is witnessing a fast energy transition, solar and wind capacity have surpassed 200 GW, and over 34 GW have been added in the first 9 months of 2025 alone. This pace of change is creating challenges related to intermittency and evacuation, prompting utilities to rely on smarter transmission infrastructure. To address these challenges, sensor-enabled cables, HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) links, and FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) devices are now being used to monitor load, temperature, and voltage in real time. This approach helps balance fluctuating renewable energy output while minimising losses.
