Adobe has introduced direct YouTube Shorts integration into its Premiere Pro editing suite, beginning with support for videos shot on iPhones.

The new feature marks a step toward bridging professional editing workflows with the short-form video ecosystem that dominates mobile platforms. It also reflects the company’s effort to align its creative tools with how content is produced and distributed in the current media landscape, where mobile-first videos now account for a major share of global engagement.
The integration allows editors to create, export, and publish Shorts directly from within Premiere Pro, bypassing the need for external upload steps. It includes a set of aspect ratio presets, automatic metadata mapping, and compatibility with YouTube's compression standards for short-form vertical content. YouTube and Adobe said they are collaborating to streamline the creative-to-publishing pipeline for creators who increasingly edit on desktops but distribute through mobile platforms.

Adobe's update reflects that shift. Premiere Pro now recognizes vertical 9:16 footage captured on iPhones, maintaining camera metadata and automatically framing it for Shorts publication.
