AFC WHYTELEAFE joint-boss Ennio Gonnella has admitted he was "upset" not to be taking a bigger lead to Hampshire for the second leg of their semi-final against Andover New Street.

Leafe in control but boss Ennio wary

Goals from Dan Bennett, his second re-establishing their two-goal advantage ten minutes into injury time, and Gaspar Mico has Combined Counties League Premier Division South Leafe in the driving seat for a place in the final at Wembley going to Foxcotte Park for Saturday's return.

However, Gonnella told The NLP: "The feeling is upsetting a little bit. I know we've won and I don't think anyone in this stadium would disagree we were by far the better team.

"Their game-plan at the beginning was to limit the amount of goals conceded and try their best at home. But they had to come at us in the second half and be brave.

"The good news is they have to score three goals in order to win and stop us scoring and we score in every game so we have a massive advantage. We're pleased with the result."

After a slow start, Leafe had the first sight of goal at Church Road when Aaron Watson fired wide on ten minutes, with Callum Sweeney going close with a free kick at the other end.
