IT'S TIME FOR 3UP TO GET THE NOD

I've been told by people within the Football League for years that three-up was just around the corner - I'm not sure how far in the distance that corner is but it's not been getting much closer.

Of course, the National League have now launched a 3Up campaign to officially call for an extra promotion spot.

Look, being reasonable, I get it. For teams in the Football League now, the prospect of three being relegated instead of two is turkeys voting for Christmas.

But if you've got a better opportunity for going up if you do go down, that's worth thinking about as well isn't it?

I think it's shameful only one team goes up automat-ically from the National League. I thought this was meant to be Pyramid! It's not much of a Pyramid when the odds are stacked so unfairly on the teams nearer the bottom—especially when you see the number of promotion places in the other divisions.

I feel Barnet will be National League champi-ons this season but at least one of York City and Forest Green Rovers, as two exam-ples, will miss out.
