ADAM MURRAY always felt he'd love to be the manager of Kidderminster Harriers.

I LOVE WINNING PROMOTIONS - BUT HELPING PEOPLE IS BETTER

Stature, history, the potential to not only return to Step 1 but push on further it ticks all the boxes for the 43-year-old.

That it's closer to his family home is even more of a bonus following his 18 months at Eastbourne Borough, who he took over seven points from safety and left, a season later, having finished a point behind National League South champions Truro City.

But whether you're in the National League North or South, Step 1, the Championship or Europe where Murray has been Valerien Ismael's assistant there are some things that never change.

"It's about people," Murray tells The "You've NLP.

"You've got to have good people but you've got to connect people.

Whether that's players-supporters, managers-supporters, you've got to connect and have a good group of people in your building if you want to be successful.

"Because it ain't all just plain sailing. Not everything is going to go your way. You're going to get punched on the chin and things are going to go against you. It's in those moments you win leagues, it's in those moments you get promotions.

"Anybody can be great when you win three, four, five, six, seven on the bounce.

That's great. It's what is your group of people like when it's not going your way? "That was a big thing at Eastbourne. We had good players but we created a real bond between everyone. We brought everyone together.

"We went nearly a year and a half unbeaten at home.

At times that wasn't because we were the best team. It's because we made it a horrible place to come because of the connection of everybody so it was an intense place to play.

That's something I most definitely want to create here.

"It takes work. More than anything it takes time. But I love projects like this.
