HAYES GET READY FOR LIFE IN THE FAST LANE

SIMON Lane believes Hayes & Yeading United have all the ingredients to be right in the Isthmian South Central promotion shake-up next season.

Former Kingstonian boss Lane took sole charge of United a fortnight ago following the departure of co-boss Andy Leese.

The duo jointly led the west London club to sixth place this season, missing out on the play-offs by a single point. That effort came following relegation from Southern Premier South the previous season, a campaign in which Leese took over as boss late on and Lane was part of his coaching set-up.

Lane is confident United can build on the platform the past season has given them as they bid to start climbing the pyramid again.

“We had to rebuild from scratch last year and that showed in a few games in the first half of the season where we dropped points,” he told The NLP. “We dropped 26 points from winning positions last season so that’s what we need to address.
