CLAPTON TO HEAD EAST AS APPEAL IS GRANTED

CLAPTON Community will return to the Eastern Counties League having become the first club to successfully appeal a league placement this summer.

The fan-owned Step 6 side had requested a move back to Division One South having been shifted southwards to the Southern Counties East League last summer.

The Old Spotted Dog outfit failed in appealing that move 12 months ago but won this time based on different circumstances, primarily that they were the only team from north of the River Thames to be left in SCEFL One following the demise of Clapton FC and the promotion of Tower Hamlets.
