Isaac Buckley-Ricketts’ goal sealed the points for the Nash – who also recorded a first win in six and move into the play-off places.

Mahon said: “The last couple of weeks I’ve been saying how we’ve played well but not got anything. This time, we’ve had to win ugly. We’ve been waiting for a little bit to get that win at home, so I am pleased for the players and for the fans.”

Curzon, whose last victory at the Tameside Stadium came against South Shields, were in the ascendency in the opening stages and should have taken the lead on five minutes.
