Bangladesh have been hit by a needless controversy post the squad announcement for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Veteran opener Tamim Iqbal was left out of the side with issues pertaining to his injury and his denial of batting lower down than the original opening slot. This led to skipper Shakib Al Hasan slamming Tamim as the controversy gained more fire. Now, going into the global event, this is something Bangladesh didn’t need. There is so much negativity pertaining to this, and it takes away the belief among players. Despite a decent squad on paper, Bangladesh will need to find solace with bat and ball talking, besides battling the controversy and poor form.
