BRITISH SCIENCE WEEK

From 6–15 March, events will be taking place across the UK to celebrate British Science Week. This 10-day event, organised by the British Science Association, aims to draw attention to the wonders of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM subjects). This year's theme is “Curiosity: what's your question?”.

imageThe ATOM Festival of Science and Technology runs from 14–25 March and most events take place in Abingdon-on-Thames, England. One highlight will be a talk by physicist Professor Brian Cox called Our Place in the Universe. Other speakers will be covering topics on the Mary Rose (a famous old ship) and nature's predators. There's also a workshop dissecting an owl pellet (undigested parts of an owl's food).

Visit The Bristol Museum and Art Gallery from 10–13 March to learn more about evolution and fossils. Children will meet the Natural Science Curator to ask any questions and handle real fossils.

In Hull, the annual celebration of science and arts ColliderFest is on from 12–15 March. There are loads of science shows and hands-on workshops to try out. Visit britishscienceweek.org to find out more.
