Obsidian calmly sifts through books for new library, while Warren and Karlach unceremoniously chuck corpses out onto the street in broad daylight and Gale tries to remove the bloodstains. In fairness, the corpses had no business being there and were merely an obstruction.

How did I get here? Well, dear reader, we last saw Obsidian and Warren in the Blighted Village (and in issue 398) - unaware of the corpse-strewn future ahead of them. Though, they probably should have expected it, all things considered.

Obsidian’s skills escalated to a terrifying degree in her pursuit for books, her sharpened silver tongue slicing through the Shadow-Cursed Lands. She talked every major enemy to death, barring Balthazar, Ketheric Thorm, and the legendary Myrkul. Spider lad and Absolute fanatic Kar'niss voluntarily walked into the shadows, and the corrupted vestiges of the Thorm family were finally laid to rest. Thisobald Thorm drank himself to combustion while Obsidian weaved tales of devils, golems and derring do; Tollkeeper Gerringothe Thorm exploded into a pile of gold, as Obsidian triumphantly announced “and that’s how you get out of taxes”; Later, House of Healing 'surgeon', Malus Thorm, 'tripped and fell' on his own scalpel.
