You have to be a rocket scientist to understand the Genius Game

Programme-maker ITV has announced it is ditching one of its channels to devote another to quiz and game shows.

Bamboozled, I was.
There will be no shortage of content: Deal or No Deal, The Chase, Lingo, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Catchphrase, In for a Penny, the 1% Club and Tipping Point - and that's - excuse the pun - the tip of the iceberg.
Then add the celebrity - most Z-listers - versions of most of the above, dumb them down and put them on repeat - a dreadful prospect.
Discombobulated, I am. Because, though, there is no shortage of programmes, where's the interest for anyone other than those who present these 'challenges' or the contestant with pound signs in their eyes?
This week, the channel added to the plethora of programmes with The Genius Game hosted by David Tennant - someone thought he would be great at it because he was rude about a few 'absent' celebrities at the last BAFTA shindig.
