What's in a name? The family ties of one and only Chesney Hawkes

In recent years the term "nepo baby" has been used to criticise children of celebrities who take up a career in the industry their famous parents worked in.

However, singer Chesney Hawkes says that while the phrase is new, the jibes were first levelled at him in the 1990s. Now 53, Hawkes shot to fame in 1991, when his debut single The One And Only spent five weeks at the top of the UK singles chart.

But soon after his smash hit was released, the singer was accused of being given access to the industry by his father Chip Hawkes, bassist and singer in The Tremeloes.
