Students score an A in the bar - but only get an F for cleaning up
Yorkshire Evening Post
|October 15, 2025
In a world where things change constantly, it’s reassuring to discover something that has stayed pretty much the same for the best part of three decades.
Sure, it might have evolved a bit, brought up to date with a few technological tweaks, but by and large student life hasn't changed much since I was at uni.
A visit at the weekend to son and heir, who is just over 100 miles away and two weeks into his accounting and finance course, confirmed what I already suspected: That students today aren't so different from how we were back in the 1990s.
Except for the fact that the 2025 cohort can use their phone to pay for drinks and have a WhatsApp group chat to moan about the state of the kitchen instead of leaving stroppy notes.
