Rory set to spend first Christmas in foster care after 500 days in kennels

After more than 500 days in kennels, Rory the lurcher is finally getting the chance to spend Christmas surrounded by home comforts.

He didn't get off to the best start in life after the four-year-old was found as a stray in early 2024.

But now, thanks to kindhearted foster carers Sue and Steven, he is set to spend Christmas in his happy place while he waits for his forever home.

And they are just two of the thousands of foster carers who support the Dogs Trust to care for over 11,000 dogs nationwide each year.

At the start of his journey with Dogs Trust Leeds, Rory was very anxious and unsure of the world, feeling nervous about being left alone and struggling to settle in new environments.
