Report tells water companies 'you must do better'

The Environment Agency has today called on water companies to improve their performance as the latest survey reveals the lowest ratings since the process began 14 years ago.

The Environmental Performance Assessment report is an independent comparison of environmental performance across the sector.

Each ccompany in England is rated from one star to four stars to highlight where improvement in water company performance is required.

Last year, the nine companies collectively achieved 19 stars out of a possible 36, down from 25 in 2023. Only Severn Trent Water received the top four-star rating.
