Is your area ripe for gentrification - or is it you who lowers the tone?

One of those 'fun' quizzes popped into my inbox the other day.

It was from a national newspaper - well, the online version at any rate - inviting readers to find out how middle class their street is.

The easy way to do this would be to look out of the window and decide for yourself. Maybe count how many of your neighbours are unloading Waitrose carrier bags from the boot of their 4x4s.

But where's the fun in that when you can have AI tell you, just by filling in your postcode?

They used to say that if you're upper class, your name is on the building; middle class and your name is on your desk; working class and your name is on your shirt.

Except for a start, that doesn’t work with Premiership footballers who are, by and large, absolutely rolling in it yet all have their name and number on the back of their jerseys.
