'I see why Taylor Swift does it': Kirk Brandon's Spear of Destiny reissues

As the leader of seminal post punk bands Theatre Of Hate and Spear Of Destiny, one might think Kirk Brandon has little in common with one of the world's biggest pop stars in Taylor Swift, but the pair are both on a similar mission.

The 68-year-old has recently released re-recordings of Spear Of Destiny albums The Price You Pay (1988) and Outlands (1987) under the name Janus, having re-recorded 1985's World Service in 2021.

It comes amid a trend in the music industry of artists revisiting old work, with Swift's Taylor's Version series being the most notable, re-recording her back catalogue after a dispute over its ownership.
