Charity tag tournament to become annual event after repeat success

A tag-rugby tournament hosted by Ilkley Rugby Club has raised more than £7,000 for a charity which supports poorly and disadvantaged children.

A total of 128 players, comprising coaches, parents and guests came face to face last Sunday (April 27) in the Ilkley T5s Tag Rugby Tournament to raise funds for the Principle Trust.

The trust provides free respite breaks to children who are underprivileged, disadvantaged, disabled, have life-limiting conditions, mental health issues or who have experienced poverty, trauma or abuse.

The money raised will fund much-needed respite breaks for 12 disadvantaged families.

Supporters turned out in force to support the 'Tag-of-War' which was sponsored by Ray Chapman Motors, while commentary was provided by Alex Cann of Your Ilkley Radio.
