A Wishaw man attacked his mum’s new partner after a drinking session organised to let them'“get to know each other”.
Liam Greenan punched the man repeatedly and bit his finger, Hamilton Sheriff Court heard last week.
Greenan, 30, of Greenlaw Avenue, admitted assaulting the man to his severe injury in Abernethyn Road, Newmains, on May 1 last year.
The men had been drinking in a pub with Greenan's mum also present at the time.
Scott O'Connor, prosecuting, said: “There was an argument and the victim decided to make his way home.
