Hospitals in Gaza claim 'at least 27' food seekers are killed

ISRAELI forces are reported to have killed at least 27 Palestinians seeking food yesterday in the Gaza Strip, according to local hospital officials.

Witnesses described facing gunfire as hungry crowds surged around aid sites, as the malnutrition-related death toll in the territory surged.

Desperation has gripped the Palestinian territory of more than two million, which experts have warned is at risk of famine because of Israel’s blockade and nearly two-year offensive against Hamas, the Gaza-based militant group.
