Grecians confirm place in Premier League Cup

EXETER City coach Dan Green has confirmed the club will again compete in the Under-21 Premier League Cup, which has been an ideal grounding for the club’s youngsters in the past.

Not only that, but the competition offers City the opportunity to give fringe players some much needed minutes and players returning from injury the opportunity to get game time and boost their fitness ahead of a first team return.

With the Grecians not having a reserve team and their geographical location making reserve and development games hard to find, the Premier League Cup has been a God send in helping them draw up a games programme for promising youngsters taking the first steps in their career and Green has welcomed City’s participation in the competition again in 2025/26.

“Bach year brings a different opportunity and a different set of challenges,’ he said. “Last year, because of the size of the first team, it was a fantastic opportunity to get senior players minutes alongside the younger players.
