It looks unlikely Pilgrims will land anyone before season opener – Cleverley

PLYMOUTH Argyle head coach Tom Cleverley has admitted it is looking unlikely that the Pilgrims will sign a striker before the League One kickoff against Barnsley at Home Park tomorrow.

Argyle missed out on Burton Albion forward Rumarn Burrell, who joined Championship club Queens Park Rangers instead last weekend, and have been working on a potential deal for Dale Taylor of Nottingham Forest, who has also been linked with a move to Blackpool, but there has been no outcome on that yet.

With Bim Pepple rated as 'touch and go' by Cleverley for the season-opening fixture against Conor Hourihane's Barnsley due to a hamstring issue, 22-year-old Owen Oseni, who has not played a single minute of EFL football, could be the only out-and-out striker available.
