CHAMPION livestock took a starring role at the Royal Cornwall Show as thousands turned out to celebrate the best of Cornish rural life.

The sunshine made a welcome return yesterday after a damp and grey start to proceedings on Thursday, with up to 120,000 people expected to visit during the three days.

Held at the Royal Cornwall Showground near Wadebridge, there was a palpable atmosphere of excitement and happiness throughout the aisles as showgoers young and old sampled the finest agriculture, food and entertainment.
