Nature festival will celebrate flora and fauna

THE Exmoor Nature Festival begins today with more than 50 events themed on wildlife and wellbeing.

The two-week programme, supported by Visit Exmoor, aims to celebrate the unique flora and fauna that can be found in the National Park, as well as the benefits of nature for human health and the “sheer beauty” of the landscape.

Taking place from today to Sunday, June 1, events are set to be held across Exmoor and throughout the festival period, run by the Exmoor National Park Authority (ENPA) and local businesses and organisations.

Festival organiser Julie Colman, rural enterprise co-ordinator at the ENPA, said: “We're really excited to launch our amazing programme of events. National Parks were created to help support the nation’s health and wellbeing and this is a real opportunity for everyone to connect with nature. Not only are people learning about Exmoor flora and fauna, but hopefully being inspired to help us look after this very special landscape.”
