Welsh sporting icon laid to rest as hundreds turn out in tribute

LARGE crowds gathered to pay their respects to a Welsh sporting icon following his death at the age of 62.
Former Glamorgan and England cricketer Hugh Morris passed away on December 28 last year following a battle with cancer. His funeral took place yesterday at Llandaff Cathedral in Cardiff.
Mourners gathered inside and outside the cathedral with many famous faces in attendance.
During the ceremony, Morris, who was raised in Cowbridge, was described as a “remarkable cricketer”.
Friend and rugby legend Brynmor Williams was one of those to speak at the service funeral. He said: “Let us gather my friends in the twilight’s glow, to celebrate the life of the cricketer we know.
