SWANSEA CITY COMMENT:

Western Mail

BY TOM COLEMAN

IT’S impossible not to notice the positivity and optimism around Swansea City right now.

A strong end to the season, the involvement of a footballing megastar, and some uncharacteristically early moves in the summer transfer window, have all helped induce a genuine feelgood factor around the club right now.

If Alan Sheehan can continue the momentum that helped convince the club to hand him the keys to the club on a permanent basis, then there's every reason for the Jack Army to be excited about the coming campaign.

New signing Zeidane Inoussa, who's become the first capture of what finally feels like a new era for the Swans, has certainly caused a stir among those inside the club, who believe they've pulled off a really strong piece of early business.

The Swede has already revealed that co-owner Luka Modric even helped persuade him to make the move to south Wales, a revelation that will only heighten the levels of anticipation around what the future may hold.

The club have rightly been criticised in the past for leaving too much of their business too late in the window, and there’s now a quiet optimism that the new regime has potentially learned some valuable lessons.

Bobby Wales is expected to follow Inoussa through the door this summer, with sources in Scotland indicating the 19-year-old forward could well undergo a medical later this week.

Wales is understood to have agreed a four-year deal with the club, but there's still a little way to go before move can be completed.
