Skydiving fundraiser thrilled by star donation

WREXHAM FC co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have stunned a local charity fundraiser by submitting a huge donation to help young people living with cancer.

Catherine Jackson is set to embark on a charity skydive later this summer in aid of Young Lives vs Cancer, having been inspired by the story of 12-year-old fan Archie White, who is battling a rare form of blood cancer known as myeloid sarcoma.

The 42-year-old waste management worker is a passionate Wrexham supporter, and had initially hoped to raise £1,000 for the charity, which offers support for patients and their families.

However, she has seen that initial target smashed thanks to a surprise donation of £5,000 from the Wrexham co-owners.

"It’s the community spirit," she said. "People know Archie’s story and they've got behind it completely.
