Recall plans for MSs hang in the balance

WHEN supporters of Senedd expansion talk about the plans, they say the extra cost, the bad press, the work behind the scenes will all be worth it to make the institution live up to its potential.

One gaping hole which was not part of that pledge is recalling politicians who are found to have broken the rules.

We all know trust in politicians is low, and the fact voters cannot vote out their MS if they are found to have broken the rules cannot have helped that.

Few people work in a job where they can continue without repercussions for serious wrongdoing.

But now the Welsh Government has announced plans - with a large amount of emphasis on that word - to right the wrong.
