A CONVICTED rapist travelled abroad on a trip he had not told police about and using a secret passport he had lied about having, a court has heard.

- JASON EVANS

Kiron Chand is required to give police advance notice of any foreign travel and to notify them of any passport or bank accounts he has as part of being a registered sex offender.

Swansea Crown Court heard the defendant has a history of ignoring or breaching orders of the court, and a judge said he had come to the view that the 36-year-old was a "deceitful and dishonest man"

Ryan Bowen, prosecuting, told the court that in 2009 the defendant was convicted of rape, sentenced to eight years' detention in a young offender institution and made subject to the requirements of the sex offenders' register.

The court heard the rape involved the then-19-year-old Chand "pestering" a woman in Llanelli town centre and making repeated requests for oral sex before throwing the woman to the ground, punching and kicking her to the head, and then forcing his penis into her mouth.
