Dolmelynllyn, Eryri
This four-mile circular estate walk takes you past the cascading Rhaeadr Ddu waterfalls. Meaning ‘Black Falls’ in English, the two waterfalls have inspired generations of artists and writers. Look out for a rock inscribed in Latin with a line by the poet Thomas Grey. This route will take you past the River Gamlan with its turbulent rapids and the fascinating remains of the Cefn Coch gold mine, once one of the richest mines in the Meirionnydd gold belt.
Cemlyn and Llanrhwydrus, Ynys Mon (Anglesey)
Explore the beauty of Cemlyn National Nature Reserve on this three-mile self-led trail along the shingle ridge that takes in spiritual sites, rock formations and wildlife on the tranquil lagoon.
