Police discover huge cannabis factory at former M&S store

A FORMER Marks & Spencer store in the heart of a Welsh town centre was being converted into what police say could have become the "largest ever" cannabis farm in south Wales.

Neath town centre Neighbourhood Policing Officers disrupted the operation before it could reach full scale.
The operation came as a result of intelligence gathered by the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT). Suspicious activity had been reported around the former Marks & Spencer's shop on Green Street, which had been vacant since the closure of M&S on May 18, 2024.
While on patrol, officers stopped a man who was allegedly "acting suspiciously".
