Novel a vivid exploration of identity and heritage
PALESTINIAN author Yasmin Zaher was last night named winner of the world's largest and most prestigious literary prize for young writers - the Swansea University Dylan Thomas Prize.
Yasmin, 34, a journalist and writer, was awarded the prize for her debut novel The Coin.
Chosen in a unanimous decision by this year's judging panel, the book draws on Yasmin's personal experiences to dissect nature and civilisation, beauty and justice, class and belonging in a vivid exploration of identity and heritage.
