There was a large emergency services presence at the scene of the serious incident near the New Inn pub in Smiths Avenue, Hirwaun, Rhondda Cynon Taf, late on Thursday evening. Paramedics and police were sent to the pub, with members of the public asked to avoid the area.

Shortly after officers arrived, South Wales Police confirmed a 35-year-old man from Rhigos had been arrested on suspicion of attempted GBH and various driving offences, including driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The bulldozer had also been driven over an unoccupied parked car.

Police said the man who was arrested was in hospital. No-one else was injured in the incident.
