Jones hoping Japan can heap more home misery on Wales under the roof

JAPAN coach Eddie Jones has dismissed the notion that the sweltering conditions were a factor in the Brave Blossoms' summer victory over Wales as he hopes the two-year winless run in Cardiff would prove a "burden" for Steve Tandy's side today.

Wales have lost a record 10 consecutive matches at the Principality with their last win coming in a World Cup warm-up against England back in August 2023. They also only recently ended the 18-Test losing run another record with a win over Jones' Japan in Kobe back in July.

The week before, Japan dealt with the searing heat of Kitakyushu better - earning a 24-19 win at Mikuni World Stadium.

With temperatures above 30C and humidity high for the mid-afternoon matches, some within the Welsh Rugby Union were understood to believe the conditions were too oppressive for a Test match with some players understood to have been affected by the heat post-match.
