JONES: FAST START CRUCIAL IN AWAY WIN

MARK Jones believes a fast start was key as the Ospreys made it two wins out of two in the European Challenge Cup after seeing off Montauban with a bonus-point win at Stade Sapiac.

The visitors ran in three tries during an impressive first-half showing, while the hosts responded with a touchdown either side of the break to stay in the contest.

However, two further scores made sure of the win for Jones’ men, who also welcomed Owen Watkin back into the fold following his return from injury.

Jones told S4C: “We started well. We talked around getting the speed right, particularly against this very physical forward-orientated side.

“We knew we needed to take their legs away and the accuracy in the first 30 minutes, with the intent to play, was the deciding factor and gave us confidence.”
