Hawkins starts at fly-half for Scarlets

RETURNING Wales international Joe Hawkins will start at fly-half as the Scarlets begin their preseason preparations this weekend.

Dwayne Peel's side take on Super Rygbi Cymru sides Llandovery and Carmarthen Quins at Llandovery’s Church Bank, playing a half of rugby against each of the SRC sides.

‘The Scarlets will play the Drovers for 40 minutes, then the Quins for 40 minutes, before the two semipro clubs face each other for 40 minutes.

New signing Hawkins, who has joined from Exeter this summer, will wear the No. 10 jersey on his return to Welsh rugby.

Former Ospreys centre Hawkins left for the Gallagher Premiership in 2023, meaning the five-cap international was captured by the 25-cap law.
